Niles Canyon Railway

NILES CANYON RAILWAY

The Niles Canyon Railway is a heritage railway running through Niles Canyon, between Sunol and Niles.  The rail line through Niles Canyon was amongst the earliest to be built in California and provided the first rail connection between San Francisco Bay and the rest of the nation.

Dog-friendly community park at 3rd and H-street with grassy area for kids and pets, tennis court, 2 ponds, picnic tables, bathrooms and plenty of parking. Enjoy at the park or take the path to the Alameda Creek trail for a nice walk. 

California Nursery Historic Park

CALIFORNIA NURSERY PARK

A 20-acre joint project by City of Fremont and Math & Science Nucleus to maintain and preserve the historic nursery that was originally started by John Rock in 1865 in San Jose, and relocated to Niles in 1884  

Vallejo Mills Historical Park

VALLEJO MILLS HISTORICAL PARK

Niles Essanay Museum

ESSANAY SILENT FILM MUSEUM

Housed in Edisor Theater, a century-old Nickelodeon movie theater,  is a celebration of the early Bay Area history of Broncho Billy Anderson, Charlie Chaplin and the dawn of films in early 1900s.

The Niles Depot Museum is located in the former Southern Pacific Railroad colonnade-style passenger depot built in 1901,[1] and freight depot, located in the Niles District of Fremont, California.
