Every year the Niles Main Street Association sponsors a list of events.

These events are sponsored by the volunteers and members of Niles Main Street Association with the mission “To promote the historic preservation, protection and use of Niles traditional downtown area, including that area’s commercial, civic and religious enterprises and residences.

Other events in and around Niles include Train Rides, Train Museum, Pacific Bus Museum, Silent Film Museum, Silent Film Festival, Drum Circles, Car Shows and the Christmas Parade, Niles Spring Fever & Hot August Niles Car Show, Niles Festival of Lights Parade 

This year most of the events are canceled due to the pandemic, barring a couple. Below you can see the ones still on schedule or in the planning stage

Niles Crab Feed


This event usually takes place around the first week of March. It is a ticketed, adults-only event and is usually sold out. The proceeds from the event are used by NMSA to plan other events throughout the year.

Niles Dog Show


This picnic-like event takes place in mid-July in the Niles Community Park. It is a fun-filled day with food, music, games and lots of cuteness all around.  Humans show off their four-legged best friends in various competitions. Many rescue organizations and vendors set up booths to sell all kinds of stuff for humans and their pets.

Held on the last Sunday of August, this is the largest event in Niles that brings thousands of visitors and hundreds of vendors from all over the Bay Area and beyond. More than 200 vendors line the streets selling Antiques, Art, Crafts, Jewelry, Plants, food, and several other items.

Pink Flamingo Golf Tournament


This ticketed event is held in October is an event unique to Niles and is spread throughout the Niles neighborhood. Miniature golfers putt their way through many pee-wee golf-style themed holes to win prizes



Niles Festival of Lights Parade

Day after Thanksgiving

Sponsored by the members of the Niles community and the Fremont community at large, this wonderful holiday tradition features over 60 unique floats and other entries, marching bands, specialty service units, and of course, an appearance by the man himself - Santa Claus



Spring Festival & Garden Show


This celebration of Spring takes place in mid-may. It is a festive day where many residents open up their yards to the public for private garden tours and vendors line the streets selling art, home and garden decor, etc.

Held on the first Sunday of August, this is the one of the hottest events in Niles that brings hundreds of motorheads from all over the Bay Area to Niles to show off their shiny rides from the yore. Food, music, classic cars.... what more can one ask for on a hot august sunday!

Niles Antique Faire

Niles Clean Up Day

Previously September 

This free event is held in September, where residents are invited to clean up the town of Niles. There are competition and prizes for collecting and guessing the most collected trash. 

This year the event was held on April 17.


Niles Altar Walkl


Started in 2012, The Niles Altar Walk,is a local celebration of Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead)! Locals, Friends of Niles, Artists & Students build altars to commemorate the lives of passed loved ones, ancestors, and icons.
