Come Celebrate the Day of the Dead With Us!

Niles Altar Walk

It’s time to break out that tequila for great-grandpa Lopez! Time to cook up Tia Lupe’s favorite tamales! Time to bring some marigolds and have a chat with great-great-grandma Luisa! Bring a jar of atole for Uncle Nesto!

Join us in Niles for our
Dia de los Muertos Celebration
The Day of the Dead

The Niles Altar Walk

Date: November 2nd, 2016.
Time: Altars open for viewing at 2pm. Open all day with a Closing Ceremony at 8pm.
Place: Niles Town Plaza
Cost: FREE! There is no cost to participate or attend.

What is this all about?

The Dia De Los Muertos / Day of the Dead celebration is spiritual in nature, all inclusive and does not discriminate based on race, religion, lack of religion, sexual orientation, or creed. This is a not-for-profit, local event put together by volunteers. The hope is that it will create unity within our community through what we all have in common; the experience of losing someone in death and honoring their life. We encourage everyone to join us in recognizing our past together.

A community altar will be in place for all to contribute anything of non-valuable sentiment and photos. (Please bring copies, not your originals.)

We will feature entertainment and refreshments per our tradition!

We are also encouraging people to plan on making it a day with your family! Food vendors will be on site, and of course Niles local eateries will have delicious grub available for purchase.
